All Time Defensive line
Mike Zikas Defensive Line 1967:
Was an All-Conference, All-Area, All State player senior year. Went on to play football at Notre Dame. Played in 2 Cotton Bowls. Was Drafted in the 7th round of the NFL Draft by the New York Giants. When his football career was over was Head Coach of Thornton Junior College for 3 Years. Mike was also Thornridge Athlete of the Year in 1968.
Art Riley Defensive Line 1970:
Was an All-Conference, All-Area, All State player on the 1970 Mythical State Championship Team. Also was a very good Discuss Thrower by Placing 3rd in State. Went to USC after graduation and was a three year starter and All-Pac 8 player for them. Was Drafted in the second round of the NFL draft by the Minnesota Vikings.
Bob Morgan Defensive Line 1977:
Was an All-Conference, and All-Area player for the Falcons. Was the mainstay of the defense. The 1977 Falcons were the first team in history to Qualify for the IHSA state Playoffs. Went To Northern Illinois after graduation and was a 4 year letterman and All-MAC team senior year.
Reggie Johnson Defensive Line 1985:
Was an All-Conference, All-Area player for the Falcons. Was a sack artist for the 1985 team and in college. Was also a very good receiver for the Falcons with 6 TD receptions from his Tight End Position. Went to Coffeyville and Arizona after playing days at Thornridge. Was All-Pac 10 Defensive line for the Wildcats. Played with the BC Lions in the CFL for two years after Arizona.
Brandon Green Defensive Line 2016:
Was a two time All-Conference player. Junior year lead the area in Tackle for Loses with 25. Made Honorable ALL-State junior year.
Ray Pavesic Defensive Line 1975:
Was an All-Conference, All-Area, All State player Senior Year. Went on to play at the University of Illinois lettering 2 years.
Terry Kennedy Defensive Line 1963:
Was a two year starter at Thornridge and the Schools Athlete of the Year in 1964. Went on to Thornton Junior College were he was an All-Conference player and Indiana State and captained the football team his senior year. Was also a respected coach at Thornridge, a head football coach at Thornton Junior College & Thornwood High School. Winningest football coach at Thornwood HS.
Tyrone Lawerence Defensive line 1970:
Was All-Conference and All-Area senior year. A small but disruptive force for the Mythical State Championship team. Played Nose-Guard and caused havoc in the middle of the line. Lead the defense in tackles for a defense that gave up only 4 points a game in 1970. Went on to play football at North Central College.
