THORNRIDGE HIGH SCHOOL
Dear Past, Present, and Future Falcons:
In the Fall of the 1960/61 school year, Thornridge High School opened their doors. In the sixty years since then, there have been many student athletes that have come through these doors. When I served as the Athletic Director at Thornridge in the 2016/17 school year, I helped organize a reunion of the 1971 and 1972 State Champion Basketball team, which occurred during one of our basketball games. This exemplified the tradition of Thornridge basketball. But what many people don’t realize is that Thornridge High School also has a great tradition of football. For example, in 1970, fifty years ago, Thornridge High School's football team also won a State Football Championship.
The purpose of this All-Time Football Team is to present the great athletes that have walked through the halls of Thornridge High School. A committee was formed which consisted of myself, Brad Beilfuss (84), and Stu Vogel (67) to create this All-Time Football Team. We reached out to former Alumni football players, football coaches, and anybody who knew about Thornridge Football. We then came up with a list of players, and ultimately, we came up with this All-Time Team.
There may be some disagreement about this team, as there always will be because this is an opinion. But this also makes it exciting to read. If you disagree about our teams, comments are always welcome.
Lastly I would like to thank Brad, Stu, and the coaches and alumni that helped form this team. Everyone put in a lot of long hours to complete this task. If there are comments you would like to make, you may contact me at my email.
