Bagpipe
Thornridge High School Student Newspaper
Advisor: Ms. E. Zachery 708.271.4626Bagpipe Origins:As the achievements in educational excellence, sports and activities unfolded, Thornridge High School sought to establish a unique identity, and SCOT (Student Council of Thornridge) was formed. From there the Thornridge mascot, the Falcon, a Scottish hunting bird was adopted. In fact, for many years, an actual Falcon was used. In 1963, Wing Ding, the caricature of the Falcon was created and has been featured in cartoon strips in the Bagpipe (student newspaper) and on the athletic field as a student mascot.
In keeping with the Scottish theme, the school newspaper was named the Bagpipe, and the Yearbook was named the Piper (a Bagpipe player).

The writing, editing, graphics, and photography are contributed by students currently enrolled in the Journalism 101 Class and the Bagpipe Newspaper Club of Thornridge High School.
