Thornton Township High School District 205 is requesting a waiver/modification of Illinois School Code 105 ILCS 5/27-24.3 whereby the requirement of "at least 6 hours of practice driving in a car having dual operating controls under direct individualinstruction" is changed to "allowing 20 hours of practice driving in a simulator system in lieu of 3 hours of instruction in a dual control car." This request is on fulfilling the intent of the driver education mandate in a more safe, efficient and innovativemanner and improving the performance of our student drivers. 

In accordance to the waiver, District 205 is posting this notice before our next Board of Education meeting scheduled for Wednesday June, 9, 2021.
