Message from Superintendent Dr. Nathaniel Cunningham Jr. regarding class of 2020 graduation ceremonies:
The plans for District 205 Graduation Ceremonies has been made. Each District 205 school will be holding a virtual graduation ceremony that includes the reading of the names of each of our graduates, speeches from the principal, the superintendent, and student speakers. The details of each school’s plan are listed here, and they are continuously being updated to ensure that our seniors receive the graduation experience that they earned! The principals have taken input from their students, parents, and community and they feel that their plans will celebrate the accomplishments of our graduates. The purpose of the graduation ceremony is to create a formal setting to present each graduate the evidence of their academic achievement—the diploma. For students, it marks the passage to adulthood and all of the opportunities that life—with diploma in hand—can bring. For parents and guardians, it is a moment filled with emotion and pride. We here at District 205 are committed to ensure that all of our seniors receive the graduation ceremony that they deserve!
