Welcome to the Operations Department of Thornton Township High Schools District 205.

Our department is responsible for the construction and overall maintenance of the buildings and grounds of District 205 schools. We are diligent in examining our buildings to see what needs to be addressed. My team creates detailed plans to make improvements in a timely manner.

We aim to be progressive from year-to-year in our efforts to make our buildings and grounds the most conducive for our students and staff.

This summer, we continued with major building improvements which included the reconstruction of the bathroom at Thornton and Thornridge High Schools. These bathrooms will now be of the same standard as the bathrooms at Thornwood, which were reconstructed two years ago. 

We are also responsible for transportation, security, and custodial responsibilities. Whether that is daily transportation for our students to and from school, or transportation for special events and activities, all of these requests go through us. We coordinate with security in all three schools to mitigate threats and liabilities. 

It is important to us to have an impeccable image on our school grounds and inside of our schools. We work tirelessly to maintain the landscape and cleanliness of our facilities at all times, during all seasons.

I encourage you to join us in conversation during our Facilities Meetings which take place on the last Thursday of every month. There, you can see what we are working on and have your concerns addressed.
