Welcome to the Research, Assessment & Quality Analysis Department of Thornton Township High Schools District 205. 

I serve within the Department of Curriculum and Instruction which is committed to providing all students an engaging curriculum that is learner-centric, challenging, differentiated, experiential, and results-oriented. We strive to fulfill the District’s mission to develop students who are enrolled in college or a vocational program, enlisted in military service, or gainfully employed at the completion of high school.

My team is responsible for data collection and analysis, state data reporting, and student information system support. We collaborate with other District 205 departments including the business department for online registration and fee payments, and the human resources department for hiring and staffing needs and data requests. During the 2020-2021 school year, my team was integrally involved in the shift to remote learning that was implemented due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

For the past 22 years, I have served in various capacities in District 205. I started as a math teacher at Thornton Township High School and I taught everything from pre-high school math to advanced placement calculus. I also served as a department chair, math coach, district data coach, and area instructional leader. I have been in my current position of Director of Research, Assessment, and Quality Analysis for five years.

Some of my day-to-day departmental duties include: PowerSchool administration and managing other systems that connect to PowerSchool; data and research assessment; state reporting; building support; departmental support; and online registration.

I like that my job is very challenging and that it allows me to help the District run more efficiently, which in turn allows more resources to be directed to our students.
